Finca El Recreo is located in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range on the northeastern coast of Colombia. The Sierra Nevada is the sacred place of four indigenous communities, the mother of 36 rivers, the highest coastal mountain range in the world, and considered the world's most irreplaceable nature reserve due to its biodiversity.

Finca El Recreo sits at an altitude of 1100 m.a.s.l on steep shade-covered mountains with rainfall, altitude, and temperatures that are ideal for growing a mellow medium-bodied Arabica-style bean.

The cup profile is predominantly a mild cup with medium to low acidity, floral and sweet notes, influenced by the Caribbean winds and abundance of water in this stunning mountain range.

Although not certified organic, Mama Chena's coffee is grown using organic practices.
